Nicole Whyte.

I am Nicole Whyte, a founding principal and CEO of Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP, a firm spanning five states. I am a Certified Family Law Specialist, Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), one of very few attorneys nationally holding both distinctions. I have been named a California Super Lawyer every year since 2012, recognized by Best Lawyers in America, and honored by the Daily Journal as one of California's Top 100 Women Attorneys. Admitted in California, Nevada, D.C., Washington State, and South Africa. I have been happily married for 27 years. My husband, Steve, and I have four wonderful children, two of whom are now entering the legal profession.
I have dedicated a significant portion of my career to serving the legal profession and the Orange County community through leadership, mentorship, and public service. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Bar Association for the past three years and co-chaired the Law School Liaison Committee. I served for six years on the Board of the OCBA Masters Division and currently serve on the Board of the OCBA Charitable Fund. Beyond the OCBA, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Public Law Center for ten years, including as President in 2023. I have served for more than fifteen years on the Sheila Sonenshine Pro Bono Committee, supporting access to justice for underserved members of the community. I am a founding member and co-chair of Women for Justice, a philanthropic initiative benefiting the Public Law Center. I also served for fourteen years as Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of the Banyard Inn of Court, and I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. My longstanding commitment to professional leadership reflects my belief that a strong legal community is built through service, collaboration, mentorship, and an unwavering dedication to the highest standards of the profession. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be considered for Secretary. I do believe the breadth of my experience has uniquely prepared me to serve the OCBA. My journey as a lawyer on two continents, as a criminal prosecutor, civil litigator, Certified Family Law Specialist, trial lawyer, law firm leader, mother, wife, and longtime volunteer in our legal community has given me a vast appreciation for the many perspectives and needs of our profession. If I have the privilege of being elected Secretary, I will serve with all my heart, listening carefully and striving to strengthen the OCBA for every member. |
