Nicole's ​Career Timeline.

  1. 1986–1988

    University of the Witwatersrand

    Earns her B.A. and LL.B. at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

  2. 1988–1990

    Called to the Bar, South Africa

    Admitted to the Supreme Court of South Africa (“called to the Bar”). She begins her career as a state prosecutor in the criminal division of the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, trying criminal cases before moving to civil and commercial litigation.

  3. 1991

    Admitted to the California State Bar

    Immigrates to the United States and is admitted to the California State Bar. She starts over, learning a new legal system and building a practice from scratch. She argues her first American jury trial in an Orange County courtroom. Her sister flies in from South Africa to watch.

  4. 1997

    Co-founds Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara

    Starts the law firm that becomes Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara with Keith Bremer. Six years after arriving in the United States, she is a name partner in a startup practice.

  5. 1998

    Construction & Insurance Litigation Circuit

    Becomes a regular on the construction defect and insurance litigation circuit: the West Coast Casualty Seminar, Mealey’s, Lorman. She still speaks at all three.

  6. 2000

    Admitted in Nevada

    Admitted in Nevada as Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara grows beyond California.

  7. 2005

    California Super Lawyer

    Named a California Super Lawyer for the first time.

  8. 2010

    Strategies for Family Law in California

    Authors a chapter in Strategies for Family Law in California (Aspatore), with a second chapter in the 2012 edition. She joins the Sheila Sonenshine Pro Bono Committee and has served on it ever since.

  9. 2011

    Admitted in Washington, D.C.

    Admitted in Washington, D.C. The Banyard Inn of Court gives her its Angelo Palmieri Award for Excellence in Professionalism and Civility (2011–12).

  10. 2012

    Admitted in Washington State

  11. 2015

    Top 100 Women Attorneys

    Named one of California’s Top 100 Women Attorneys by the Daily Journal, and a Top 50 Orange County Super Lawyer from 2015 through 2018.

  12. 2017

    UCI Chief Executive Roundtable

    Becomes a member of the UCI Chief Executive Roundtable

  13. 2023

    OCBA Board of Directors

    Joins the OCBA Board of Directors, where she now co-chairs the Law School Liaison Committee.

  14. 2023

    President, Public Law Center

    Serves as President of the Public Law Center, after ten years on the Board she joined in 2014.

  15. 2024

    Receives the ADL American Jurisprudence Award

    and becomes a Fellow of the AAML.

  16. 2025

    Founder, Women for Justice

    Founds Women for Justice to support the Public Law Center, and is inducted into ABOTA. That year she also watches her oldest son sworn in as an attorney.

  17. 2026

    Top 50 Most Prominent Businesswomen

    Orange County Business Journal - Special Report.

  18. 2026

    Candidate for OCBA Secretary

    Bremer Whyte has grown to 240 lawyers in ten offices across five states. She speaks at the AAML Southern California Trial Institute, Consulegis in Sofia, and the OCBA Family Law Section. Now she is asking Orange County attorneys for their vote for OCBA Secretary.
